Hi, I am TC Liu. I have a Master of Information Technology from Open University Malaysia (OUM) and a Master of Teaching and Learning from the University of Waikato, and a Full Teaching Practicing Certificate (Category 1). I started as a Graphic Designer with a Diploma in Graphic Design and Certificate in Interactive Multimedia Production.It has been an adventure in teaching and education for me and I am loving every minute of it. I started my teaching journey as a Year 10 / 11 DVC and Digital teacher at Sacred Heart Grils' College in Hamilton NZ and went on to Howick College in Auckland NZ as a Year 10-13 Visual Arts teacher specialising in Design. Due to my background as a Graphic Designer and wayfinding solution provider in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, I am able to bring more purposeful learning content to this role.I am currently the Workshop Technology teacher at Fairfield Intermediate School (FIS). At FIS, I am also the Engineering Enrichment Teacher and the Teacher-in-Charge (TiC) for Table Tennis. It gives me the satisfaction with the best of both worlds, where I previously loved designing and I can now build those designs.Learning for me, personally, is something that happens constantly and makes every day something to look forward to. As I share learning content with my students, I also learn from them in many ways, such as how they perceive things, their way of managing different challenges that lead to their experiences and how they simplify things in a world where we can easily over-complicate things.In my free time, I enjoy dabbling in music, catch an inspiring movie or bake. I was fortunate to be able to be a baker at Volare Breads in Hamilton NZ (my first job in NZ actually!). My baking passion has always revolved around bread and sourdough, so this opportunity was heaven sent. It also is my quiet learning spot, where I can make mistakes, own them, find solutions and make things right. It's still OK if I can't make things right, I just have to eat distorted sourdough for a week (or more!) :D
