As data scientist, I was solely responsible for acquiring & cleaning a half-dozen public and private datasets of clinical & genomic data for over 12,000 patients and 2,300 coding genes encompassing over 30 types of cancer. I have developed the analytic framework to implement the (patent-pending) algorithmic concepts designed by our chief medical researcher, and maintain the ever-evolving codebase to generate, validate, and persist the proprietary rules-based matching system.MatchTx provides a cloud-based research and analytics platform -- suitable for research and clinical settings alike -- to explore, identify, and capitalize on biomarkers & pattern-driven traits that link cancer patients both to personalized treatments and to "uniquely similar" patients. The MatchTx solution shrinks the timeline and costs of drug trials by matching patients on genomic profile & statistically validated phenotypic traits, including clinical outcome and cancer-specific relevant metrics.

As a Project Manager, I served as a liaison between clientele and internal Design & Dev teams, coordinating prioritization, reporting, and all else needed to ensure delivery. Zenith Fitness, Ltd. is a new startup aiming to revolutionize the fitness industry through technology and data-driven insight. We're currently in development of a combined data-collection and cloud-based analytics platform that centers on interoperability, flexible implementation, and process automation. Integrating a minimalist approach to hardware with the flexibility of cloud-based applications allows our product to take personalized fitness to the next level, creating new value for both members and owners/operators of fitness facilities alike.

While at Explorys I was a part of the Data Curation team's growth from just a couple individuals to an agile cross-functional team of a dozen members. With wide-ranging responsibilities, our team occupied a vital link between the clinical and the technical, bridging the gap between data-driven Informatics and the underlying technological infrastructure. The role required competence with an array of technologies to work with data throughout its lifecycle in our distributed platform: from the initial mining & mapping, through acquisition & standardization, to trouble-shooting final products and on-going maintenance to ensure consistent data integrity.Responsibilities included:- Data mining & forensics via SQL, Python, etc., including creating internal analysis tools;- Source-to-Target mapping of many new and previously-encountered EMR/EHR back-ends and custom data warehouses to our internal data model;- Reviewing finalized mappings with technical and non-technical clientele, encompassing everything from high-level summaries of data quality with clinical reps to detailed field-by-field reviews with the DBAs and entire IT teams of our partner healthcare networks;- Familiarity with many standard medical ontologies (e.g. SNOMED-CT, ICD, LOINC, RxNorm, CPT) as well as custom “in-house” ontologies, all updated & maintained to meet Meaningful Use II certification;- Regular and ad hoc reporting (automated and manual) of data quality, status of integrations, standardization coverage of new and existing data sources, timelines and effort-tracking for internally- and externally-generated issues, all in order to monitor the health of one of the largest clinical datasets in the world with hundreds of billions of data elements covering 48 million unique patient lives;- Investigating data issues to identify and resolve the often multi-faceted problems that cause data loss, corruption, or misrepresentation within a complex, many-layered data-flow and processing platform.

• Regularly reported forecasts in business economics, with heavy focus on time-series estimation of quarterly and monthly national retail sales as well as modeling regional and statewide job growth in Ohio. • Performed ad hoc research into improved modeling using basic and intermediate econometric methods such as splines, ARIMA, and comparing information criteria in STATA, EViews, and Python.
