Self taught from an early age, I have spent my life being amazed by then mastering new technologies. From outdoor stages for music events, to thousand server high availability web services I always enjoy finding more efficient and useful applications of technology.I strongly believe in DevOps principles, collaboration between developers and operations benefits the project and the enjoyment of people working in both teams. In the past working as a DevOps engineer has allowed suggestions I have made from an operations view shaping the development process in ways which has cut development time and hardware requirements in half!I have just taken a break from IT in 2013 to build a house for my retired parents, which has been a life long dream of mine, having taken it all the way back to foundations and rebuilt with my own hands. During this time I have also helped my local community electronics workshop (Reading Hackspace, rlab.org.uk) move into new premises and expanded the tools and courses on offer there. Having working with open source software for over ten years it is great to now be part of the open source hardware movement too.
