I began my career consulting for companies just as the internet started to take shape; companies needed my skill set to provide an online presence to transact business online. My career with insurance began as a two-week consulting project for Zurich Insurance in 1999, introducing me to the insurance industry. I then saw the more exciting side of the insurance industry (surprising to me), and I realized I had more of a passion for it than I was willing to admit. I continued to consult for Zurich for three years.Zurich Insurance offered me a full-time position days after the terrorist attacks of 9/11/2001 in a technical role (Unix Administration and Database Engineer). I was also responsible for assisting in establishing a new office for Zurich Insurance. I continued with Zurich and CSC (consulting for Zurich Insurance) for 12 more years.I then consulted for other companies leading me to Admiral Insurance (W.R. Berkley Company), a developer and Senior Business Analyst. As insurance carriers began to embrace technology, I moved on to Xagent to develop a single-entry multi-quoting platform. From there onto Bold Penguin and now Semsee staying in the InsureTech space. Who knew a two-week consulting assignment would lead to a 20+ year career in the InsureTech industry?
