Senior Research Engineer
Current- Facilitated fundamental research supporting FCE’s first joint project with ExxonMobil Research & Engineering using molten carbonate fuel cells for CO2 capture.
- Designed and implemented electrochemical experiments that revealed a drastic change in cathode mechanism unique to this application
- Greatly improved cell and stack-level performance and stability through engineering the cathode, electrolyte, and current collectors
- Identified the rate-limiting phenomena using a physics-based electrode model with Python
- Highlighted results and data analysis in weekly presentations and technical reports both internally and to ExxonMobil
- Analyzed the electrochemical performance of surface-coated solid oxide fuel cell cathodes via impedance spectroscopy to characterize and understand drivers for degradation
