Owner
I started this business to scratch an entrepreurial itch and provide a side income to my professional piloting career. Nearly all sales were generated through our website, driven by advertising in nationally distributed magazines. We started in a corner of our garage, eventually took over a second garage, and finally moved to a commercial facility. After the air ambulance business I was flying for closed in 2001, I chose to focus on growing the business.• Continually improved website through three different versions, culminating in a state of the art, design-it-online system which we custom created with our web development company• Very marketing oriented – creative print ads to drive niche sales to website• Developed and managed an efficient production line and shipping facility • Managed 3-4 full time employees and $700K in sales.
Air Ambulance Captain
I started working for MCA in college as a line service technician pumping fuel, washing planes, cleaning hangars, etc. During this time I also earned my CFI certificate and began providing independent flight training. After college I moved to the MCA flight department and progressed from air ambulance co-pilot, to the charter department as captain, and eventually back to air ambulance as a captain. My primary responsibility was keeping safety paramount while under dynamic, demanding conditions.• Part 135 air ambulance pilot on King Air C-90A, charter pilot on Baron 58 and King Air C90• Nearly all-weather, 24/7 air ambulance service – launch nationwide in less than 30 minutes• Time critical decision making with many variables – weather, crew, aircraft, patient condition, airfield type and condition, patient ground transport considerations, FAA and company regulations, etc.• Wide variety of flying - regularly operated into marginally lit, short runways, in rural communities at night, then transported patients to larger cities, often into major international airports.
Marketing Database Administrator
Marketing Database Administrator (Part-time, project based) Assisted in a large-scale project to integrate data from existing AS400 system with a new MS Access system. This required close interaction with programmers from conceptual development, through beta testing, and, finally, company-wide launch. • Assured data input accuracy and integrity before, during, and after integration• Designed queries and forms to match the needs of internal customers • Beta testing and assisting programmers with subsequent trouble shooting
