I guide the strategy and operations of a complex portfolio of retail-focused real estate properties across the country to maximize their value for the stakeholders. I collaborate with internal and external teams to establish and execute a strategy, develop budgets and work with the teams to meet or exceed our goals. I use my diverse real estate background and experience building and managing teams to excel in the industry. I’ve worked within many different company structures including a regional family-owned developer, a publicly traded real estate investment trust, and a large private real estate organization, and in a variety of asset classes including retail, multifamily, office, student housing, and self-storage. I have created new teams, integrated them into the organization, and mentored co-workers and subordinates to help them succeed. Real estate is my second career. After spending my early years working on cars as a hobby, I graduated with a mechanical engineering degree and spent a number of years designing and manufacturing air conditioners in the automotive industry. In that role where one mistake can affect a hundred thousand products, I gained experience in solving complex problems and analyzing potential risks to minimize them as much as possible. This unique experience has given me a highly perceptive approach when addressing issues within my portfolio and establishing processes that drive success. Each asset needs an individualized strategic plan to meet the needs of its investors and the community. Having new challenges to address motivates me each day.I have >15 years of progressively responsible experience working in a variety of Real Estate organizations and roles. I hold a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from a top-ranked Business School. I’m a licensed real estate broker.
