    I supported the Domestic Violence Programs' work in providing expert assistance to courts across the country who seek to improve their response to domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking. My role involved assessing jurisdictions’ training and technical assistance needs as it relates to community responses to domestic and sexual violence; organizing domestic violence mentor court open houses and other court stakeholder trainings; providing trainings on topics related to domestic violence to various community/court-based stakeholders, including coordinated community response, specialized domestic violence courts, and serving military-affiliated and veteran populations affected by domestic violence; creating educational materials (e.g. flyers, 1-pagers, etc.) related to domestic violence topics and training & technical assistance offerings; working with individual jurisdictions throughout the country to enhance their community's court-based responses to domestic violence; collaborating with other partners on providing training and expert assistance to court stakeholders; and providing general administrative support to the Domestic Violence Programs at CCI.Much of my work also supported Project SAFE: Services and Fundamental Enhancements for Justice-Involved Women. Through this project, we provide targeted training and expert assistance to Office on Violence Against Women grantees working with criminalized Black women who are also survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault. Project SAFE addressed the intersections of trauma, race, gender, and sexuality by acknowledging the needs of Black women engaged in the justice system through enhanced trauma-informed responses and practices. Our training and technical assistance included trauma-informed engagement, strategic planning, needs assessments, developing implementation strategies, and more.
