I led an organization of approximately 80 student advocates who offer free representation to low-income individuals accused of crimes in pre-arraignment show cause hearings in the Boston Municipal Court system and assisted low-income individuals with sealing their criminal records. As President, I worked with other student leaders, our clinical supervisor, and program manager to ensure the provision of quality representation to our clients and meaningful educational and community experiences for our membership.

As a member of Harvard Defenders, I represented low-income individuals served with criminal complaints before clerk magistrates in show cause hearings. I also conducted client intake interviews; participated in weekly team meetings with other Harvard Defenders and our supervising attorney, John Salsberg; and supported clients by connecting them with other community resources.

As a student attorney under the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts' Rule 3:03, I represented low-income clients in civil family matters, including divorce, custody, child support, and paternity actions. I also collaborated with community organizations, including the Brazilian Women's Group (Brighton, MA), to establish meaningful community partnerships and participate in community lawyering efforts.

With my co-director, Vanessa Rodriguez, we directly oversaw the intake review process for our practice and our community partnerships with the Brazilian Women's Group (Brighton, MA) and the Court Services Center at the Edward W. Brooke Courthouse (Boston, MA). We also coordinated with other HLAB members and supervising attorneys to ensure that our practice continues to provide meaningful family legal aid services to the Greater Boston community.

I supported the Domestic Violence Programs' work in providing expert assistance to courts across the country who seek to improve their response to domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking. My role involved assessing jurisdictions’ training and technical assistance needs as it relates to community responses to domestic and sexual violence; organizing domestic violence mentor court open houses and other court stakeholder trainings; providing trainings on topics related to domestic violence to various community/court-based stakeholders, including coordinated community response, specialized domestic violence courts, and serving military-affiliated and veteran populations affected by domestic violence; creating educational materials (e.g. flyers, 1-pagers, etc.) related to domestic violence topics and training & technical assistance offerings; working with individual jurisdictions throughout the country to enhance their community's court-based responses to domestic violence; collaborating with other partners on providing training and expert assistance to court stakeholders; and providing general administrative support to the Domestic Violence Programs at CCI.Much of my work also supported Project SAFE: Services and Fundamental Enhancements for Justice-Involved Women. Through this project, we provide targeted training and expert assistance to Office on Violence Against Women grantees working with criminalized Black women who are also survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault. Project SAFE addressed the intersections of trauma, race, gender, and sexuality by acknowledging the needs of Black women engaged in the justice system through enhanced trauma-informed responses and practices. Our training and technical assistance included trauma-informed engagement, strategic planning, needs assessments, developing implementation strategies, and more.

I assisted Dr. Judy Chu in revising The Representation Project's The Mask You Live In curriculum. This curriculum will foster students' critical engagement with topics covered in the eponymous film (2015) such as gender stereotypes, socialization, and healthy masculinity. My role specifically involved brainstorming activities, developing objectives, outlining methods for training facilitators, and ensuring that the curriculum is engaging, inclusive, and meets all of the goals set out by The Representation Project.

I supported the Career Services team by analyzing metrics for career products and programs, creating career event kits for the alumni, managing social media, entering data pertinent to alumni activity, attending and sourcing career events (e.g. marketing, updating the event calendar with on-campus events). As a member of the team, I also participated in brainstorming sessions to help plan internships and social media and marketing campaigns. I also assisted in providing customer service to the alumni via answering phone calls, emails, and social media posts.

As co-director of the Stanford Sexual Health Resource Center (SHPRC), I along with my other co-director provided support to the core staff and fellow counselors of the SHPRC. I also co-managed regular core staff meetings, communications, and the budget/spending of the SHPRC. I oversaw the day-to-day functions of the Sexual Health Resource Center, which include providing peer counseling services to students and providing sexual health products, information, and resources.

At MAMA Global, I contributed to the goal of providing vital health information to new and expecting mothers in low- and middle-income countries by assisting the MAMA Global team. I also helped manage MAMA’s social media channels (including the website), contribute to the MAMA blog, monitor and report on relevant research, and assist with all administrative aspects of MAMA Global’s operations.

“Students’ Perceptions of Grading Practices, Learning, and the Undergraduate Experience” under Clara S. Lewis, Ph.D.As a research assistant, I performed over a dozen 45-minute student interviews and compiled relevant data for the publication. Each interview was focused on collecting information on students' perceptions of their undergraduate experience, which involved asking questions, taking notes, and monitoring the conversation as a whole. I also worked with the rest of my team in order to make decisions on applying for grants and conferences.
