Training in nuclear safety engineering.

I monitored Wireline operations and provided technical and quality control support over a satellite network to field crews throughout North America. A major part of the the job was coaching field engineers on data quality control and providing second level troubleshooting as a subject matter expert. It was a fast paced environment which required ability to quickly find solutions.Some of my highlights from this job included:• Individually saved an average of $50,000 per month in rig time and lost data by quickly finding solutions and knowledge sharing.• On a regular basis I responded simultaneously to multiple equipment failures. and provided a variety of solutions that prevented extra cost from extended down time.• I identified issues not noted by field engineers in about 10% of all jobs, helped them address the incorrect parameter or tool string and assured that they met data quality standards.• I developed training materials based on common problems that were identified and tracked, resulting in a saving of approximately one hour lost time and individual coaching time per directional survey.

As an instructor I trained new and experienced employees on equipment and data quality control techniques. I wrote appraisals for every student in my classes and made decisions to pass or terminate new employees. I and the other instructors evaluated students with tests and practical field exercises.During my time as an instructor:• I trained several hundred employees in a variety of long and short term classes with a six month failure rate that was below objective. Most of the long term classes were two to three months long, while the short term were one to two weeks.• A major part of the course was to train students to safely handle radioactive materials and simulated explosives.• To help students I built and wired a training board to teach addressable switch perforating, a new technology without training materials.• As part of a new training initiative I developed and implemented new training presentations, examples and work sheets.• For new classes or advanced courses I identified, located and arranged transport for new equipment needed for courses.

As a Field Engineer I supervised a crew of 2-3 operators to acquire down hole data on wireline. As the engineer on a truck I was responsible for basic maintenance, repairing electrical and hydraulic faults in surface and downhole equipment and major repair scheduling of all assets assigned. I have experience with operations and geological interpretation of nearly all Wireline tools including triple combo, sonic, magnetic resonance, cement bond log, ultrasonic cement evaluation and perforation. • From my time in Mississippi and Texas I have experience with interpretation in the Barnett Shale and other reservoirs in north Texas and Coal Bed Methane (CBM), Black Warrior basin and other fields in Alabama, Mississippi and eastern Louisiana.• In addition to vertical wells I have extensive experience in horizontal operations and completions including coil tubing, wireline tractor and pump down evaluation and perforation.• I identified many failures including a failure in the tension sensor line that I was able to repair the problem within 20 minutes, resulting in minimal lost time.• I worked for both large and small clients, on more than one occasion I provided onsite training to a small client resulting in his gaining the ability to understand logs and make work over decision.• I was involved in testing wireline pump down in horizontal wells as a member of a five person team, leading to it becoming a standard procedure for Schlumberger in the Barnett Shale.• I interacted with geologists, company men, sales and location management to ensure correct prejob planning, communicate action plans following failures and exceed customer expectations.• As an additional responsibility I maintained explosives inventory system resulting in a violation free BATFE audit.• In addition to the inventory I determined acceptable explosive weight in location magazines based on regulations and developed documentation to guide other engineers.
