Most recently at Pace International, I staffed the Finance department, coaching the team to excellence in accounting and financial processes, including corporate financial reporting, cost accounting for manufacturing, and capital asset management, and the installation of our SAP ERP system. In addition, I implemented Value Analysis, collecting customer feedback on the services they value most, and then matching their preferences with my company’s investment profile. At Kimberly-Clark, I'm most proud of reducing waste in manufacturing by working with production employees to implement LEAN visual management processes. I also gained an emphasis on worker well-being at Kimberly-Clark from the strong safety culture there.My time at Hewlett-Packard was filled with many opportunities for growth. I enjoyed creating business plans for a telepresence startup and a dvd labeling startup, getting funding for them, and then helping build them from scratch as the Finance Lead. It was great to see both businesses become profitable.I’m also proud of my twelve years in HP’s semiconductor business, where I implemented Activity Based Management to enable process efficiency and drive our strategic planning process. We were able to save substantial cost in the design of our newest generation of products.I exercise my passion for advanced management techniques in leadership of the Cost and Profit Management Group, part of the Consortium of Advanced Management - International. I’m privileged to facilitate a talented team of executives, academics and thought leaders to explore the next level of applications of traditional cost models. We are developing methods for applying those models to serving stakeholders such as employees, the environment, and society. In my spare time, I love spending time with my wife of 35 years, our six children and one grandchild. I’m enthusiastic about the outdoors, climbing in the Cascades and hiking sections of the Pacific Crest Trail. I also love reading classic literature, history and biographies.
