CtoBrian Industries Nov 2010 - Nov 2016As CTO at Brian Industries I am responsible for the overall management of the platform development and technical direction of the Company.I architected the full-stack technology platform, from back-end network scalability to support 100,000+ users and millions of queries to the proprietary multi-dimensional rapid search algorithm which provides the business a unique ability to present highly customised results to global users in fractions of a second.To achieve this, the backend runs clustered Java application servers with vast in-memory live object caches. A custom “fast-cone” search algorithm and multi-dimensional filter technology ensure that millions of results can be searched in a few milliseconds. Data is then packaged for transport using a custom high-performance binary wire-protocol, improving client-throughput approximately 10-fold over XML with HTTP.

Chief Technical AdvisorOriginal Sin Events Ltd Jul 2010 - Aug 2013My work with Original Sin Events was focussed on the design, development and roll-out of a credits-based electronic ticketing system with mobile hand-held venue-entry systems.This new payment card for students was successfully launched in September 2012 after approximately 2 years of research and development. The system handles top-up credit payments on-line for thousands of students and processes real-time venue entry data via a fully-customised portable ticket-scanning system. The metrics captured by this system power the business towards higher engagement with the customers, as well as enabling direct, measurable real-time promotions.I also worked as a general strategy advisor and trouble-shooter to the Directors.
