As a work study employee, I did a lot of writing and web site maintenance for the AU Athletic Department. I wrote every type of content imaginable, including previews, recaps, press releases, features, bios and sections for our annual report. I also helped out on game days by filming or keeping stats.

Copenhagen Area, Denmark

I was one of four Americans selected to intern at the only English-language newspaper in Denmark. My editors essentially told me to write a long sports story every week or two and gave me free reign from there. I did six lengthy sports-features and a handful of GA/community stories in between.

American University

I covered a variety of sports, primarily field hockey and men's basketball, and slowly learned the craft of sports journalism in the process. I also wrote several columns on national and local issues, as well as a handful of features and profiles.
