I lead a talented team who listen to and support people with invisible disability and/ or mental ill-health, and their family and friends.At Human Approach , we provide counselling, therapy and support coordination within NDIS.Our team include highly skilled and experienced psychologists, counsellors, art therapists and social workers. We offer therapy-led Support Coordination and Specialist Support Coordination. We also provide counselling privately to individuals, couples and families experiencing loss, distress, anxiety, personal challenges, disruption, and life transitions. We support disenfranchised grief and loss such as through trauma, as family members, carers, supporters and kin; adults impacted by adoption, donor conception and out of home care, and other relational losses.Our peer approach places client lived experience of disability and mental ill-health at the centre. It can be difficult to live alongside health and human services systems. We are trauma-informed, pace our work to client preferences, and represent personal experiences compassionately within compelling co-written reports.We stand as allies with all people who feel othered or ‘outside’ whether due to their own health, their social identity, or isolation through a life of providing support at home to a friend or family member. Social justice principles guide our practice approach; we can all do more to create belonging and ease the way. We advocate for improved support for families (carers) alongside those they support.
