I was fortunate to join Boomtown as the 2nd person hired by the 2 founders and helped lead Boomton's growth, from 5 people to ~ 300, while directing the growth of the engineering team from 1 to ~ 50.As Director of Technology my role was to build both our technology stack and our team, in a scalable manner. While at Boomtown I had the opportunity to fill a variety of roles including; * Leadership team * Responsible for entire engineering team * Chief Architect and head down coder. * DBA (by necessity) * Performance Engineer * Hiring, recruiting, team building My responsibilities included: * All aspects of team building as we grew from a 4 person shop with 1 developer to a more traditional technology team blending subject matter experts and quality assurance professionals into an efficient, responsible, accountable and professional development team. * Technical architecture, application design, software development, hardware deployment, system security, data aggregation, data security. * Product development pipeline, resulting in the strong growth of the firm and rapid revenue realization while at the same time maintaining low overhead and production costs; * Cloud migration strategies and architecture * Chief architect and then member of architectural committee which I established * Data architect, Database Administrator, performance tuner and fixer of queries
