The goal was to try to identity unique chemical signatures for the precursors and products of IED bomb making process. While we were able to identify those chemicals it proved difficult to distinguish IED making from routine, day-to-day, activities (cleaning, auto repair, hair salon, etc.). The experiments included multiple systems under test. Data was interchanged between systems and the operator station where it was used for analysis.
