Present inquiry-based art appreciation and interactive art activities to children at title I schools, youth with Autism and adults with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Plan and implement community events to engage people who might not otherwise have access to our education.

I recently opened Splash Samana, a luxury bed and breakfast overlooking the Caribbean Sea. We host private events, weddings, retreats, whale watching, house parties, game nights, live music and more. We have 2 private beaches with motorized and non motorized water sports. Relax by our infinity pool or take an adventure and see the Island.

I have been researching affordable beach front property for years. On a recent visit to the Dominican Republic i fell in love with the Samana Peninsula. I found a beautiful group of 8 beach front homes with ocean views and whale watching from January through March. I was offered a partnership to manage and sell houses and open a bed and breakfast on the beach. I still design for Global Bambini and market my line through my website. I am taking a break from Montessori education but who knows maybe I will open another Montessori school in Samana. Thank you big guy in the sky for helping me to find this awesome opportunity. I have met some wonderful people in Samana and I look forward to learning more about the culture of the Dominican Republic.

Tammy Kennedy established Montessori of Alameda in 1991, originally opening with 6 children in the basement of her Alameda home. Since that time she has had 4 commercial sites and now Montessori of Alameda's final home at 4210 N.E Going. The facility expanded in 2007 adding 2 new toddler classrooms and 2 primary classrooms. The school has beautiful indoor and outdoor environments with french doors leading outside to a children's garden, sport court and age appropriate play structures. The school also has an outdoor curriculum with visiting farm animals. Tammy holds Montessori credentials at both infant and toddler level and primary as well as an elementary certificate. She is the founder of the Ivy School- a new public Montessori Elementary School for Portland Public Schools serving children ages 1st - 8th grade. She also recently opened Maria's Place- the first sliding scale Montessori school in Portland for low income families. Last year she brought a Teacher education program to Portland within the Montessori of Alameda School. The Montessori of Alameda Teacher Education Program has programs for teachers who would like to become accredited at the infant and toddler and primary levels. Tammy holds a degree in Fashion Design from Brooks College and a Child Development Credential from Portland State University. She has a Bachelors Degree from Endicott College and Montessori Credentials at the infant and toddler and early childhood levels. She attends conventions around the world and is a life long student.
