Manage the development and implementation of the new System Safety Program Plan for MARC train in accordance with 49 CFR 270, including but not limited to areas such as, data acquisition and analysis, hazard identification, quality assurance, safety culture, employee training and rules and procedures review. Manage the implementation and revisions to the Passenger Train Emergency Preparedness Plan, including training programs for first responders, and assisting with yearly exercises.

The Trainmaster is responsible for inspecting MARC stations for safety issues, advising and assisting the MARC Train Chief Transportation Officer during operational incidents; training and overseeing outside contractors. Interacting with other (contractor) railroad's supervision to resolve operating or customer service problems assisting the MARC Operations Center in the event of operational incidents.

Monitor all rail traffic along the MARC Camden and Brunswick passenger commuter lines and is responsible for a variety of reporting duties related to situations that may impact passenger service, the functionality of train stations and crew management.

Supervise train crews on a freight train and coordinate switch engine crews. Place cars to facilitate loading and unloading and the makeup and breakdown on trains in a rail yard, industrial plant, or similar location. Primary Activities and Responsibilities Ensure compliance with all train orders, signals, and railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations, and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) Review instructions from dispatchers and yardmasters, and discuss with locomotive engineer and train crew Inspect all equipment on cars prior to departures Receive and transmit information by radio and telephone Read and understand bulletins, work orders, and switch lists Assist and instruct train crews to couple and uncouple cars, operate switches, and make minor repairs to railcars, including replacing heavy couplings or air brake hoses Work with customers to ensure accurate movement and placement of cars Maintain awareness of surrounding area and suspicious activity to ensure rail safety Operate locomotive equipment through the use of remote control device. Comprehend color and/or hand signals and systems Quickly and repeatedly make precise adjustments in moving the controls of a machine or vehicle to exact positions Quickly respond (with the hand, finger, or foot) to visual symbols, signals and displays (sound, light, picture, etc.)

Provide input for steady improvement in safety of all T&E employees. Perform safety observations and continually increase knowledge of all CSX safety and operating rules. Perform regular efficiency and operational tests, document performance, and submit data promptly and accurately.Observe performance of T&E employees and identify areas for improvement. Monitor train crew performance daily.Understand the execution and implementation of the CSX operational effectiveness plan (Operating Plan). Learn operations of the railroad, union agreements, and customer requirements.Participate in activities related to derailments and other service disruptions. AT WMSR my duties included but were not limited to surveying the WMSR line of road and compiling a database of geographical information for use by railway management to make maintenance decisions. Using extreme care, all embankments, culverts, bridges and fills were inspected and mapped. Power tools including chain saws and brush hogs were used to clear right-ow-way for inspection. Historical and primary sources were utilized to categorize an catalog features on railroad property. Before finishing the project the data exceeded 30GB and lead to the publishing of a 90 page atlas of railroad assets and property for use of the track department and the WMSR legal department.

While an Enumerator at the US Census my responsibilities were to identify gaps in the data collected by the agency, and seek out these addresses and families in a polite and courteous way in order to collect population data for the use of the US government. Challenges for working for a government agency were apparent, such is mistrust and suspension, but generally the work was rewarding and the people were generous and co-operative. Prescription of forms was very important as this is the was the Census gathers data that is then used to assign representation in the United States government.

At Family Bike Shop, Bike Mechanics are responsible for managing the repair workflow of customers bikes in order to provide a timely service and a quality job. Diagnosing issues and suggesting solutions are a constant task, and interacting courteously with the public is a must. While selling bikes a Mechanic must earn the customers trust, and do right by them in suggesting a bike style, size and price for their needs. Quality work sets a good mechanic apart, and punctual repairs elevate the mechanic to a high level to some customers who's recreation and sometimes their livelihoods depend on their service. In addition, during my several years at Family Bike Shop, I aided and lead on several renovation projects, and was given open/closing responsibilities as well as the key to the shop.
