I worked at Plasmold Plastics with the main role of running the recycling process. I was assisted in this endeavour by a more experienced colleague - Wayne Mead. However, over time my own experience grew to the point where I became more responsible for the processes affecting my work.My role required a keen eye for detail - as any contamination in the plastic would reduce the value of the recycled product sharply! When cleaning the machine between runs it had to be cleaned in every crack - eliminating granules and dust in every possible crevice.While this was my main responsibility my manager became aware that I am happiest when cooperating with others. At times it was more important for me to assist them with their workload than to focus on my responsibilities. They were always appreciative - which is a great motivator to continue working hard.I was sad to leave my position here as I had built good working relationships - with many - friendships! However, when the opportunity to work as a full-time volunteer towards a cause that I believe strongly in arose, I was willing to sacrifice this position to move onwards!
