In 1980, my Dad's Pinto was rear ended while parked outside the Searstown mall in Leominster, MA. Instead of fixing the car, my Dad took the insurance payment and bought an Atari 400 with Basic cartridge, thus introducing me to computers and programming. In 1997, as department manager at Barnes & Noble in NYC, I discovered the Barnes & Noble gopher site, launched to compete with Amazon.com's WWW site. When I explained the plethora of ways in which our gopher site did not measure up to Amazon's web site, I was asked if I wanted to come and be part of the solution.I have since helped build and manage buildout of product catalogs, reporting systems, ecommerce backends, replatforming both front end and back end stacks, and have worked on search integrations. I have managed a number of backend service, CMS and data [engineering, science] teams. I have managed a test engineering team [manual, automated], as well as iOS, Android, Web/JavaScript and fullstack development teams. In-house, remote, distributed, offshore, co-working -- I have experience with all of these working environments, and most combinations of these as well.Currently seeking my next great role. My ideal company has a mission to improve the social good, can provide a great technical challenge, shares my values (D&I, cooperative work environment, servant leadership, growth mindset) and has a very impactful role for me!
