Ko Ngāti Hine, ko Ngāti Manu, ko Ngāti Kahungunu e tau nei. Ko Te Awe Davis tōku ingoa, I am a passionate wahine Māori, centralising my professional career in and around core values of te ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Currently, I am a Senior Advisor Māori Capability at Te Arawhiti Office for Māori Crown Relations, this role has challenged me to expand my thinking on how te ao Māori understanding and capability can benefit the public sector and government to become positive treaty partners. In this endeavour, I believe we all have a part to play to ensure equitable outcomes and to uphold the principles of Te Tiriti. While acknowledging that there is still much to learn, I hope to be a leader for my peers in the public sector and encourage and uplift our collective understanding of what Kotahitanga, Manaakitanga and Rangatiratanga look like in this space.
