Te-Won is CEO of SoftEye where he is building the eyes of generative AI to enable glasses as a new wearable device category.Te-Won is an expert in machine learning and AI (IEEE Fellow) with senior executive experiences at Samsung and Qualcomm. His experiences as SVP at Samsung include automotive semiconductor products and custom SoC (System on Chip) products for mobile, wearables and cloud solutions. As President of Qualcomm Korea his responsibilities included sales, operation and development of chipset and SW products for mobile, consumer and automotive customers. Te-Won has been passionate about innovating and taking research into products. As head of Qualcomm’s R&D Center in Korea he developed AI, computer vision and audio / speech algorithms and commercialized them in chipsets and SW products including voice assistant and ADAS. He was also Co-founder and CEO of SoftMax a startup founded by UCSD and Salk professors to commercialize machine learning algorithms in handsets and BT headsets. Qualcomm acquired SoftMax and licensed its SW across all mobile platforms. Te-Won has been also an avid member of the AI & machine learning academic community when he was a tenured faculty member at the University of California, San Diego. He received the IEEE Fellow (2011) award for learning algorithms and his Ph.D. in machine learning from University of Technology Berlin / Max Planck Institute.
