I was a residential advisor at Roberts Hall during my second year of my science degree at Monash University. In this role I helped students living on campus by providing pastoral and administrative support. I did this by checking in with each of my assigned residents at least once a fortnight and running small scale events with my 26 residents at least twice per semester. I helped bridge between residents and the hall staff, provided advice and practical help if there were issues and did my best to ensure everyone at the hall had a positive experience. Additionally, I ran programs designed to bring attention to the environment and collaborated with other RAs to do so. Examples of this included an event to raise awareness about palm oil and plastic waste and an event to upcycle old jars into terrariums.
