In all of my roles, I have gained a detailed understanding of the many parts brought together for a successful research study. With so many teammates, the importance of communication has constantly been evident. I have experience working with patients of all ages and with a large variety of conditions. On the other side of things, I work with large datasets, focusing on improving quality and accuracy. As outreach coordinator, I communicated primarily with those diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. I became familiar with study protocols, inclusion/exclusion criterion, primary outcome measures and psychometric instruments. I provided preliminary assessments, obtaining information about medical history and symptoms in order to determine eligibility for studies. I have learned to maintain a high level of patience, compassion, and understanding when interacting with patients. Overall I have learned that most people, regardless of diagnosis, appreciate a balance of transparency and kindness.Formerly a Registered Behavior Technician, I worked with kids of different ages to increase functional behavior. Additionally I have experience working with non-profit organizations and doing volunteer work, primarily with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. I have a history of hosting and serving while working in the food & beverages industry as well.
