Ko tāna, he torotoro i ōna ringaringa ki ētahi kaupapa e tutuki ai ēnei wawata.Te Aorangi’s overall endeavour is to make a positive impact in the revitalisation of the Māori language and the development of the Māori economy.Te Aorangi also enjoys governance work and currently sits on the BayTrust, is a member of the BayTrust’s Investment Committee, and is a Board Member of the New Zealand Hepatitis Foundation. Since entering his first governance role, he has grown an appreciation for the value that good governance brings to ensuring the prosperity and wellbeing of our communities and our people. He has also grown an appreciation for the value that governance holds as an avenue for himself to contribute positively to a wide-range of kaupapa and organisations, and in particular, to contribute a voice that is often not heard at the board level – the young Māori voice. With a full understanding of the governance process (including his first Ministerial Appointment), cultural intelligence, and knowledge of investment management and oversight, he has enjoyed contributing to kaupapa that are contributing to the betterment of both his people (Māori), and the communities that he is part of. For the reasons stated above, he sees the opportunity to be involved rather than a spectator at the governance level in developing not just the Bay of Plenty, but Aotearoa New Zealand, as a prosperous, multicultural society, something of great importance and he sees governance as a valuable avenue to achieving this.Te Aorangi is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors.
