I co-author and edit THINGUIDES and related blog posts on behalf of commercial clients. These are pocket-sized books for business leaders, usually on technical topics such as cybersecurity and critical national infrastructure. They are usually handed out at events and published on the client's website. David Topping is my co-author.

I am a business writer and editor with considerable private and by-lined experience. I also run report-writing workshops for business professionals.

David has trained over three thousand business professionals (mainly in IT and related fields) in how to get the best out of print and online journalists. He's also collaborated with PR firms and presented guest sessions and practice interviews within their own media training workshops.

As editor, I commission and guide contributors and edit their copy. I also write the news - online as well as in the magazine. I work closely with Dominic Kershaw on design and proofing.

Before scoring 100% in a programming aptitude test, I struggled. Trainee quantity surveyor, clerk for a packaging company, newspaper seller then hospital receptionist in Paris, sales assistant in menswear department of Bentall's.A shower of rain in late 1965 led me to take shelter in an NCR office. That led to the aptitude test and everything flowed from that.
