Being an agent for NetStar, I was responsible for $2500.00 new business per month while maintaining existing clients. To achieve these metrics, which I did constantly, I executed 40 outbound calls per day and ran 10-12 appointments per week throughout the Houston area. NetStar provides Commercial METRO-E, Fiber, DSL, T1/bonded T1, Wireless Internet (microwave), Web Hosting, Server Colocation/Rackspace and a host of other Internet Services in Houston metro area. I also sell off-site backup, BDR services, other cloud services which included hosted exchange, replication, hosted PBX, SaaS, Storage and Security.
(10-99) I was brought in by ITR to immediately close business and to set up a sales environment conducive to generating business. In the 9 months I was there I closed 8 managed service’s contracts (reoccurring revenue) and 3 server projects all over 25k, all the while setting up a sales infrastructure to facilitate growth. I consulted with Companies needing I.T. budget analysis, security audits, End-of-life upgrades and also start-ups needing crucial assessments. My Cold calling consisted of 30 outbound calls per day and canvassing the area was an absolute after I ran my appointments (10 per week). I used a variety of avenues to obtain my own leads, nurtured them and then closed them. I targeted a vast array of industries although the majority of closed business was in the Healthcare, O & G, and Transportation sectors.
My mission was to research, cold call, find the decision maker, penetrate, negotiated and close business on a breadth of products and services to Houston area companies. These include Dell, H.P., Fatpipe and Eaton’s Powerware on the hardware side; VMware, Microsoft and Symantec on the software side; Nortel Networks, AvAya and Cisco (Digital & VOIP) solutions in the telephony arena. I used intense phone prospecting (50 calls per day), zip code canvassing high rise building door knocking to fill my pipeline and ultimately close the business. I am a certified Q.S.P. on the Nortel Networks BCM 50, BCM 450, CS1000 and Nortel messaging 100/150. I also attained my certification on VMware Vsphere 4 platform (VSP & VSP4) and would sell the VMware server, storage and desktop virtualization solutions in conjunction with Dell and H.P.’s servers, desktop, SANS and I-SCSI hardware. I also sold out of our 3rd division which included, cabling/wire runs (Cat3, Cat-5, and Cat6), Tech Support, IT and Project Management services.
My duties included inbound and outbound phone activity. After a thorough investigation and needs analysis, I designed the layout and configuration of the business phone system, over-head speaker systems, paging and voice mail systems for the clients. I used visual and hard copy schematics in presentation and quoting the AVAYA "Partner and Majix” telephony systems. I was constantly working in conjunction with Project Managers and installation crews, LEC’s and CLEC’s doing T-1 cutovers, CAT-3 and CAT-5 wire runs. I was very proficient in negotiating and closing the business. As always, significant phone prospecting and building of relationships with vertical management inside target corporations. • Averaged 130% of quota attainment (80k/Mo.)• Top 5 out of 56 sales persons in revenue 1999, 2001, 2002 and 2003• I booked on average 1.3 million dollars a year.
