The position included general laboratory work following set standard procedures.This position equipped me with an experience in the collection of samples from the field, data capturing and analysis, antimicrobial testing, Molecular biology techniques such as nucleic acids extraction and molecular identification of microbes, testing of phytochemicals, interpretation of results and report writing, beer brewing, as well as the removal of bioharzadous waste and cleaning and decontamination of the laboratory.In addition, i also gained leadership skills as a postgraduate student representative in our Department's weekly meetings.
