"We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used to create them" (Albert Einstein) is the source of my creativity for solving problems and providing solutions for future generations.Most nations have insufficient funding to meet their water and sanitation targets. It's important to frame sanitation in a holistic manner integrated with water, energy, economies, and communities.My research interest is in the field of Integrated Urban Water Management (IUWM) which aims to coordinate the development and management of water resources to maximise economic and social welfare sustainably. I aim to specialise in the applcition of choice modelling in IUWM to better understand consumer preferences and willingness to pay. The research impact is intended to inform policy development, aid decision-making in infrastructure implementation and improve communication with the consumers. Previously, I held a technical director role for water and sanitation portfolio. I was responsible for planning, design, construction supervision and commissioning of numerous wastewater treatment works. I managed technical teams and was responsible for their career development. I ran a profitable team, created and executed strategies for business development and growing the team. I was the only female and person of colour to hold this role and have gained immense knowledge and understanding of the performance requirements at this level of responsibility.I believe in teamwork and that all of us can make a difference with the right tools.
