Technology Teacher
CurrentCollaborate with classroom teachers to plan and provide instruction that integrates technology across the curriculum;Assist teachers in the instruction of technology skills that meets the criteria specified by the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards for Technology; Provide professional development for the integration of technology in the classroom;Provide technical software and hardware support to teachers;Demonstrate and instruct appropriate use of the Internet;Demonstrate ethical and legal use of technology. Work closely with classroom teacher, parents, counselors, administrators and other personnel to implement positive approach to the management of challenging behavior;Prepare materials and problem, project, and inquiry based lesson plans for instruction;Implement pre-assessment and post-assessment rubrics to ensure district and state technology literacy goals are met and exceeded.Member of Technology Committee, assisted in writing and implementing district Technology Plan.Teacher of the Gifted and Talented (Challenge) - Create assessments to identify gifted and talented children;Assist in utilizing broad-based, multifaceted identification procedures to detect gifted and talented children;Develop curriculum for teaching the gifted and talented;Design and implement program assessment tools;Conceive and facilitate special projects and events within the Challenge program;Conduct community awareness activities;Design and maintain web page, including newsletter;Prepare budget and create purchase orders for equipment, supplies, materials, field trips, transportation and speakers;Provide differentiated instruction using technology when possible;Write grants for science probes, weather station, and other technology to enhance program;Research emergent technology and revise curriculum as needed.
