Started my career in IT recruiting in 1998 – New York City. Decided very early I was going for it and took on whatever and wherever the biggest opportunity for growth, challenge and experience would be. Moved to Chicago in 1999, to do a startup, with my first agency. Launched a new recruiting practice in Chicago in 2000 placing Java/C++ programmers and took on management for the first time, I was 23. Then went to DC in 2002, after all that went down 2001 to rebuild that location. Took my team from worst to first in 15 months and then got relocated to Orange County, CA as a director in 2003. Ran that agency from 2003-07 in Newport Beach. After 8 years I came back to my home city when my wife and I wanted to start a family. I left my first company after 10 years in 2008 and joined a former colleague in 2009 to build Talener into a national IT staffing company. When I started we had 8 people, now, in 2017 we have 6 agencies across the country, New York, Boston, DC, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. We grew our company with all homegrown talent and are about 100 strong today.
