My name is Gio! I'm most passionate about engaging with an audience through interactive experiences created at the intersection of performance, storytelling, data, and technology. My passion is finding ways to fuse technology and quality storytelling in all its forms. The better the quality of how we communicate our stories, the deeper we are able to connect with ourselves and with others. My goal is to further bridge this gap between technology and storytelling to turn information into immersive experiences that better transmit a purposeful story. My journey into professional theater and technology began when I was immersed into a plethora of courses educating students in performance, technology, and design at community college. I was able to partake in labs where we could put the theory we learned into practice and collaborate on various ongoing projects that the college facilitated. Not only did I have hands on and classroom experience, but I had also visited companies that specialized in lighting design, performance, and A/V technology along with my peers. Touring their facilities and departments from lighting and sound to marketing and management gave me an idea about what to expect in the industry and how it operates along with a glimpse into the marvel of its innovation. Currently I am pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Science. I am excited to pair my passion for storytelling with my understanding of the intersection of people, information, and technology. With a focus on data science, I aim to leverage the power of information to drive market research initiatives and address communicate curated information pertaining to a vast set of topics such as business intelligence, marketing, and issues in population health. Through coursework in data analysis, statistical methods, and information visualization, I am equipping myself with the tools to gather, analyze, and interpret data effectively. A couple of skills that I've learned that I can already see being beneficial to my cause are coding in C++ and learning digital logic design. My technical background has provided me with a solid foundation in logic-based programming and digital design, skills that I believe will be instrumental in my journey towards becoming a Data Storyteller. By harnessing the insights gleaned from data analysis, I aspire to create compelling narratives that not only inform but also inspire action and drive positive change in our communities.
