I was promoted in August to a Field Engineer, with a shift from office based work to driving across Surrey visiting our schools with the highest ticket numbers and working to get them down to a more consistent level. I currently operate in the Central and Eastern areas, covering schools in Epsom, Ewell, Caterham, Crawley, Croydon and Camberley. However, I'm also now looking after further schools from our Western and Oxfordshire areas on a weekly basis in places like Oxford, Wokingham and Sunbury.My work primarily involves troubleshooting desktops, laptops, projectors, smart boards, switches and anything that needs a pair of hands onsite to fix that our Service Desk can't remote onto. I also work with and troubleshoot a range of software including Microsoft Office, SIMS, PS Financials, Paxton ID Manager and all Adobe products. My OS knowledge is primarily on Windows 7/8/10, although I have worked with MAC OS and Linux on certain tickets.My focus this year is to increase my confidence working on heavier, more time consuming onsite tickets, develop my knowledge of PuTTy and switching to be more valuable during our school rebuild projects.
