Recruited by HP Startup while still in college. By 19 Robert was the software architect leading a group of software developers building major applications for business and scientific applications. He moved on to managing IBM Mainframe systems in Santa Clara and lead the migration from the Mainframe to a Unix infrastructure for this Fortune 100 corporation to the first SAP R3 deployment in the US. This migration required him to design and build-out of one of the largest LAN and WAN networks in the Bay Area.Robert then founded several startup companies focused on IT infrastructure products, many of which became core components of the Cloud. Projects include cloud storage designs for the US Security Agencies, US IRS and various Fortune 500 companies.As CTO of Iron Networks in San Jose, CA he has worked directly with many companies in the Silicon Valley to design and architect network, security and cloud solutions. He worked directly with Microsoft engineering in the design of their cloud architectures including Hyper-Converged Storage, Hyper-V, Systems Center and Virtual Networking. He also worked directly with Hortonworks to design a Hadoop deployment and management infrastructure using CentOS and many layered software packages.As the sole author of 63 technology patents (21 acquired by Microsoft) including cloud, networking, storage and web services technologies, Robert has designed many IT Technology products based on both Linux and Windows for scalable and elastic cloud infrastructure components and management systems to create the technologies for Software Defined Everything infrastructure.
