About Scott A Smith

For the last 11+ years I have been 'TechWorks'. TechWorks is an independent software developer and IT consulting firm specializing in small to medium sized businesses. We do stem to stern IT support; everything from networks to netbooks. A full service organization with experience in every facet of IT - and then some.TechWorks also works on a number of projects integrating hardware and software to create novel solutions for our clients. A recent project for Canaveral Port Authority in Florida included converting 4000+ paper CAD drawings to digital format as well as an app which provided super impressive search features, side-by-side drawing compare (really cool), check-in/check-out, and redline/markup for over 7000+ CAD drawings.Before TechWorks I worked for Harris on a wide range of projects in very diverse areas, from data communications to accounting applications. When I left to start TechWorks I was the manager of 3 key Corporate Headquarters departments: Applications Support, Desktop Support, and Web Services.Specialties: Software, Hardware, Firmware, Anyware.If it can't be done...I'll do it. During a design review of the software I was told that my "self-healing" (as I called it) "automatic" versioning feature was "impossible". This is the feature seen in typical software today that alerts you that new versions are available.
