Tom is a seasoned consultant, serial entrepreneur, operations executive, and University lecturer. He has launched companies of his own and helped dozens of entrepreneurs start theirs. He is passionate about entrepreneurial education and helping organizations innovate and grow to the next level.His career includes management consulting positions with A.T. Kearney, Arthur D. Little, and KPMG Peat Marwick, and executive operations positions with two early-stage technology companies. But his true passion is entrepreneurship; he’s started and sold two software companies, a business services outsourcing company, and a renewable energy company. In 2007 he accepted an adjunct faculty position at the University of Washington, Foster School of Business, and for 10 years taught courses in innovation and entrepreneurship to graduate and undergraduate students.Tom also has extensive experience in non-profit management. He served on the board (4 years as chairman) of the Northwest Entrepreneur Network, which had 900 members and was the place to go for entrepreneurs who wanted to start or grow a company in the Seattle area. More recently, Tom served as Board President of North Kitsap Fishline, a non-profit foodbank and emergency services agency, where he led a successful capital campaign to raise $4 million and build a new facility to house an expanded foodbank and innovative comprehensive services center. In 2019, Governor Jay Inslee appointed Tom to the Board of Trustees for Olympic College. His now vice chair of that board and serves as an ex-officio member of the Olympic College Foundation board. He is also an ex-officio member of the board of the Washington State Association of College Trustees (ACT) and the Washington State Coordinator for the national Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT).Tom earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering degrees in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at the University of California in Berkeley.
