Dr. Tecoy Porter is the founding President and Executive Director of National Action Network (NAN) Sacramento, a civil rights organization that advocates for justice, equality, and opportunity for all. He has led this organization for over five years, building partnerships, mobilizing communities, and influencing policies. Dr. Porter is also the Senior Pastor at Genesis Church of Sacramento, where he has served faithfully for over 24 years. During his tenure, he has led the construction of the Dr. Robert Porter Family Life Center, a multi-purpose facility that houses worship services, athletic leagues, and a multitude of outreach programs for the Meadowview community. Through a partnership with Fortune Charter School, a new TK-5 elementary school was constructed on the Genesis Church Campus, named Tecoy Porter College Prep. The school opened in Fall 2020. Dr. Porter holds a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Regent University and an Executive Certificate in Public Leadership from Harvard Kennedy School, where he gained valuable skills and insights in strategic leadership, organizational development, and nonprofit management. As a former adjunct professor, he is a proven instructor, workshop facilitator, and keynoter who connects with diverse audiences and stakeholders through his inspiring and engaging communication style. Dr. Porter is also the author of several books, including Faith To Innovate: 21st Century Tools & Strategies for Leadership Transformation, and has amassed several recognitions from the United States Congress, California State Assembly, California State Senate, Sacramento’s City Council, and the NBA’s Sacramento Kings for his community leadership. Amongst his many accomplishments, Dr. Porter believes his most significant one is his 30-year marriage to his church sweetheart, Karlette Porter, and being a devoted father to his three children.
