Served as Primary Engineer and Team Lead for the Cell Packaging Team; supervised and led engineers and technicians in design, testing, and manufacture of the photovoltaic component (Cell Package) of a high-concentration solar concentrator. Demonstrated ability to manage the technical, schedule, and budget performance issues of a complex development program. Developed technologies, procedures, and methodologies in solar concentration to accelerate the proliferation of energy conservation and renewable energy.

Designed PV component using 3D CAD software, hand-built prototypes in a machine shop, and provided extensive testing. Completed entire 3D CAD model and drawing package for three generations of solar concentrator photovoltaic components. Designed component to pass strict safety and reliability testing. Developed solutions that required a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation to problems of unusual complexity inherent in solar concentrators, including thermal, optical, electrical and safety issues. Conceptualized, designed, and developed comprehensive web-based data-tracking software to enhance photovoltaic component production efficiency. Tracking software utilized PHP, Postgresql and JavaScript to create an intuitive tool easily used by manufacturing technicians as well as engineers.Applied a wide range of concepts and practices to meet numerous regulations, policies, and precedents such as Underwriter Labrotories, Inc. (UL), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and National Electrical Code (NEC). Applied analytical techniques using Ansys, and qualitative and quantitative techniques using MATLAB and LabVIEW to improve and streamline design. Developed new or modified work methods and procedures to streamline and improve manufacturing.Coordinated with contract manufacturers and vendors in U.S., China, and Taiwan for technologies such as: wafer-dicing, die singulation and testing, surface mounting on flexible and rigid printed circuit boards, and encapsulation of all electrical and optical components for maximum optical and thermal performance. Communicated effectively both verbally and in writing with personnel at all levels of the organization.

Served on the board of directors (Vestry) for St. Luke's of the Mountains Anglican Church. Managed, along with 11 others, the budget and direction of St. Luke's, a medium sized church with approximately 250 regular members.

Member of the Propulsion, Structures and Fluid Mechanics Group at the Missile Engi-neering Center, San Bernardino, CA. Responsible for predicting aerodynamic coefficients, load distributions, and thermal response using commercial CFD, NASA and DoD codes for various missile configurations including Minuteman III, Peacekeeper, Castor IVB, and C4. Also predicted reentry environments for numerous vehicles including the SWERVE, Mk 12a, and Mk21. Chosen as a member of the DARPA Falcon proposal team for Northrop Grumman. Assisted in designing the Conforming Aero Vehicle (CAV) and organized the technology maturation plan. Responsible for providing mission assurance as Test Engineer for wind tunnel tests on Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) Launch Vehicles 2 and 3 at Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC). Selected as Head Test Engineer for Structural and Thermal tests and Assistant Test Engineer for arc-jet tests on rayon based carbon phenolics at AEDC.
