About:Born and raised in the small town of Smithers, B.C., I've always cherished the peace and space that comes with northern life. My journey from the quiet towns of Canada to the bustling cities across the globe and back has shaped my perspective on life and work. After earning dual degrees in Education and Arts, with a double major in History and Economics from the University of British Columbia, I embarked on an international teaching career that took me from Beijing to Taipei and London. This global experience not only enriched my understanding of diverse cultures but also honed my ability to adapt and thrive in varying environments.Returning to Canada, I transitioned from education to finance, driven by a desire for new challenges and a passion for helping others achieve their financial goals. Starting at Edward Jones and moving through roles at RBC Dominion and the Bank of Montreal, I've cultivated a wealth of experience in financial planning and investment management. At 49 North, I led a team of dedicated professionals, fostering a collaborative environment focused on delivering personalized investment solutions and managing a comprehensive portfolio for our clients.Today, as the Chief Strategist at CBIG Financial Group, I'm responsible for guiding our (company’s) (asset allocation) strategy. (managing our equity and fixed income pools) As Associate Portfolio Manager with Aligned Capital Partners, I am responsible for asset allocation strategy and managing our equity and fixed income pools ensuring our advisors are equipped to provide the best possible advice to our clients.With both CBIG Financial Group and Aligned Capital Partners, my role is at the intersection of strategic oversight and hands-on management, aimed at enhancing our firm's market position and achieving superior client outcomes.My leadership philosophy is shaped by my teaching background and international experiences — I value self-starters and effective problem solvers who can navigate the fast-paced world of financial planning.
