Ted Burns has specialized in the reporting of U.S. government assistance to countries in conflict for the past 6 years, originally with the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction, and more recently with the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General, where he reports on the U.S. government's assistance to countries involved in the wars in Ukraine and Syria-Irag, and the U.S. government's counterterrorism mission in Southwest Asia.Mr. Burns began his career as an investment banker in the financial institutions industry, first with Golembe Associates in Washington, DC, and then with Fox-Pitt Kelton in New York. He next served as a privatization advisor to foreign governments and as an investment banking specialist with the International Privatization Group at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where he worked under U.S. Agency for International Development, Asian Development Bank, and World Bank-funded contracts. He was resident manager of advisory projects in Indonesia, India, and South Korea, and worked on projects in an additional dozen countries in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. He next served as Chief Financial Officer of Phoenix International, a NASDAQ-listed banking software development company. Following the sale of Phoenix to London Bridge Software, he served as Senior Managing Consultant with the Financial Management consulting practice at IBM Corporation, where he acted as Subject Matter Expert in Corporate Performance Management (strategy, planning, forecasting, reporting and analytics) to Fortune 500 companies.Prior to joining the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction, Mr. Burns co-founded and led Vesta Partners, a boutique corporate finance advisory firm that specialized in the healthcare, financial services, financial technology, hospitality, real estate and sports industries.
