Recovery consisted of rerouting utilities, extracting key equipment from the collapsed addition and restoring production capability on ad hoc assembly lines. The $80M reconstruction project comprised of a replacement 200K sq ft building addition, infrastructure, and new assembly lines. Production commenced in the replacement addition on the one year anniversary of the collapse.Highly innovative thinker: commissioned a project to repurpose underutilized equipment to augment furnace production in a secondary location to solve a labor shortage in the home plant. Total investment of $1.6M resulted in extended backlog elimination as well as contributing $30M in margin over a 10-month period. Project was operational within two months of approval.
