I have 30 years of experience in emergency response, including incident command, firefighting, emergency medical services, rescue, extrication, hazardous materials, confined space, suspicious packages, and law enforcement support. My emergency response experience background includes time as a career, volunteer, public, private, and industrial emergency operations. I am still active as a firefighter, EMT-B, Hazmat specialist, instructor, and Incident Commander. Through Weston Solutions Inc., and the federal contracts it holds with US EPA, USArmy Corps of Engineers, and others, I have had the opportunity to respond to, and play a vital role, on recent major events in the US. I have responded to Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Ike, and Gustov, the Joplin EF-5 Tornado, the Marshall Michigan Oil Spill, and historic flooding along the Missouri River in Nebraska and Iowa. I have played a key role in EHS on all the above listed events. During the normal course of my duties I am involved in; behavior based safety initiatives, environmental health and safety reviews, audits, technical resourcing, HASP / APP /AHA review and approval, hazardous materials response, munitions and explosives of concern, radiological, WMD, and compliance with current regulations pertaining to EPA, OSHA, FAA, DOT, IATA and USACE.
