I am a mining professional with over 30 years of experience as a manager at both surface and underground mining operations. Positions held include Plant Manager, Engineering Project Manager, Area Operations Manager, and Underground Mining Manager. I have worked for both privately held as well as global corporations. The larger companies include Lehigh Hanson, Rogers Group, Lafarge, and currently Shelly Materials (Part of Oldcastle Materials and CRH worldwide)Most recently, I have focused my energy and utilized my past experience to assist companies who are interested in opening their first underground limestone mine. My first experience underground was early in my career working for Commercial Stone Company, which is now part of Lehigh Hanson. Recently, I have opened two underground mines in the last four years for two different companies. All have become successful, safe, productive operations which significantly contribute to the respective company’s bottom line.I am a hard working individual. I am equally comfortable hands-on in the underground environment, as well as in front of the computer reviewing financial statements. My managerial focus has always been to ensure that the operations that I am responsible for are the safest, most productive and cost efficient operations possible. I believe that the key to a successful operation is to choose, train and develop the right people for their specific job, ensure that they are given the proper tools, equipment and training to do their job and then hold them accountable to their job responsibilities.I have enjoyed all portions of my career path and I am especially enjoying the current challenges of opening underground limestone operations.
