At DCAF-ISSAT, I worked in several operational teams. One project consisted of conducting a large-scale (2500+ personnel) assessment of a state's security institutions' management practices and general state of affairs. Besides writing a technical SSR brief on this country for pre-deployment purposes and general publication, I developed and managed the data collection and analysis element of the project. This required structuring surveys into data-collection software, stress-testing and troubleshooting formatting changes in data-output, and liaising with the in-country team to ensure optimal functionality during the collection phase. Lastly, I was responsible for cleaning data and creating legible information for the purpose to inform donors of programming priorities and entry points. The second project team which I supported was tasked to perform a large multi-year disbursement mapping for a major donor on its SSR disbursement, focusing on past trends and potential future conflict prevention-oriented entry points. In this context my work consisted of handling a large multi-variable data-set of a donor's programming history, and creating legible information on implicit trends, expenditure, and areas of focus to feed into recommendations regarding future programming. I also contributed to the narrative formulation of the final report, and contributed to the development and conceptual framework of a follow-up mandate operationalising the link between SSR and conflict prevention-oriented programming.

During my time at UNICEF, I researched methodologies for possible valuation methods of UNICEF non-financial contributions and co-developed recommendations for UNICEF’s policies on in-kind contributions and partnerships, which led to a successful assessment of utility by UNICEF and potential future use of framework. Moreover, I conducted interviews with various UNICEF departments, UN agencies, and UNICEF corporate partners, while collaborating and strategizing with PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) consultants to structure the project, deliverable items, and eventual framework.

During my time at the World Organization against Torture (OMCT) Secretariat, I researched best practices for torture/CIDT documentation/reporting, and organizational survival for human rights activists in political crises/exile, for the OMCT National Endowment for Democracy Project. I also represented and composed statements given on behalf of OMCT at sessions and side events of the 35th UN Human Rights Council at the United Nations Office Geneva. Additionally, I edited, proofread, and finalized reports, statements, outreach materials, and UN Human Rights Council submissions, and aided in organization of major OMCT fundraising event.

Zürich Area, Switzerland

Whilst engaged at the International Relations and Security Network think tank of the CSS, I vetted potential content and academic contributors for the ISN’s daily Security Watch section, synopsized 100+ academic, governmental, NGO articles, journals, and reports for the ISN/CSS Database, maintained the ISN’s Social Media outlets on a daily basis, contributed to the ISN Partner Pulse newsletter, and planned and executed academic events and lectures regarding peace and security issues.

Greater Boston Area

During my time at the African Presidential Center, a Boston University think tank formerly led by US Ambassador Charles Stith, I vetted speeches and reports of African presidents and governments and edited the Center's end-of-year Africa Report. Additionally, I corresponded with offices of African government officials, diplomats, and corporate figures, I planned and executed book signings and social events, and liaised with other university offices and departments as necessary.
