Work Experience01/2014 to PresentComcast CableEngineer 3, IP Network, Transport SpecialistCurrent Responsibilities:• Install, design, test/turn up, maintain and manage the Mountain West Region Transport Network and all DWDM infrastructure for all Business and residential customers in the Mountain West Region.• Manage Converged Regional Area Network (CRAN) and Video on Demand (VOD) capacity and all associated U-ring’s and Spur’s.• Manage projects, including acquiring funding, labor contractors, coordinating materials, technical and operational readiness• Assist with Router turn up, maintenance and oversee all transport related activities. • Assist in build and augmentation of Comcast Backbone in the Mountain West Region. • Manage budgets and Capital on a quarterly and yearly basis. Interface with vendors on new products, Purchase Orders, and timely manage all PO’s to make sure they invoice in the proper time frame.• Forecast and establish CRAN/Transport Budgets and submit all necessary records and documents for Budget submissions.• Primary interface between National Network Operation Center (NNOC), XNOC, Local XOC, switch, and headend personnel.• Communicate with a variety of groups, both internal and external regarding project goals, time lines, potential issues and outages.• Ensure the adherence to established repair policies and procedures, including emergency and contingency plans. • Ensure proper records and reports are maintained.Skills: • 10 years’ experience with Cisco routers, switches, servers. 3 + years’ experience with Juniper Routers and switches. CMTS’s, NSG’s, and all fiber equipment in the HFC/IP environment.• 3 + years’ experience with Fujitsu 4500 and 7500 systems and Alcatel/Nokia 1830 PSS transport networks.• Solid understanding on layer 1 transport architectures.• Strong understanding of data network & HFC architectures, in an outside and inside plant engineering environment.• Proficient on Windows OS.
