At Yahoo I’ve served as Creative and Operations Director for 2 different branches of thecompany. In 2022, as the creative and ops lead for the new Yahoo News Visuals team,I managed a new cross-functional team of ~20 FTEs and contractors, comprised of artdirectors, photo editors, web developers, animators, data artists, photographers, illustrators,designers, and project managers. My team and I refreshed the visual aesthetic for theYahoo News brand and created a corresponding interactive style guide, as well as arobust program to optimize and scale adoption of the brand system across all Yahoo Newschannels. We also established and implemented streamlined processes, workflows, andtooling to improve creative team execution and delivery, including but not limited to file andasset management, design intent to production hand off, and delivery mechanisms. I alsooversaw the implementation of similar workstreams for effective adoption of the brand systemby marketing stakeholders and external agencies. We created award-winning interactivemicrosites end-to-end, and executed a total overhaul of the brand’s video and social mediachannels to dramatic growth. I also collaborated with Commerce leads on B2B and shoppinginitiatives with similar success, and collaborated with Product on new UI/UX widgets as partof homepage refresh efforts. Additionally, my team and I led the company’s first meaningfulforays into generative AI, and fielded hundreds of daily art requests weekly in service ofYahoo’s 1P content.
