I have devoted about half of my life to the study of the Chinese and Japanese languages and cultures. Today, I am fluent (reading, writing and speaking) in both languages as well as very knowledgeable about those cultures.As an undergraduate, I majored in Chinese and minored in Russian at the State University of New York at Albany. I then travelled to Beijing, China, where I conducted intensive study in Chinese. After returning to the US for approximately one year, I went to Japan and lived in that country for six years. During that time, I conducted intensive study in Japanese. After returning to the US for good, I attended Seton Hall University, where I pursued my Master of Arts degree in Asian Studies. At about the same time, I started my own company "T&T Consulting", which I continue to own/operate. My company specialized in Japanese, Chinese and English translation, interpreting and consulting services. In 2008, I began teaching Chinese language in Vernon Township, New Jersey. I wrote all curriculum (K, 1, 2, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12) for the district as well as chose all textbooks. In 2011, I was recruited by Bernenfield Public Schools in order to launch a Chinese program (middle school and high school) for them. In my first year, I not only establised he program, I taught 160 students as well as established such a high quality Chinese language program that the district was recognized as a Confucius Classroom. Only programs comitted to excellence are given this designation.
