Healthcare executive with over 40 years of experience in the design and sale of innovative health care products with an emphasis on Consumer-Driven Health (CDH). From 2000 - 2005, served as a senior sales person at Lumenos, a pioneer in the consumer-driven space prior to its acquisition by WellPoint. Following two years (2006-2007) as a CDH specialist within WellPoint/Elevance, left to join a new venture in 2008: Welvie. Currently serves as SVP of National Sales at Welvie, a consumer-focused company whose mission is to optimize necessary surgeries, reduce surgical complications and eliminate unnecessary (where the known risks outweigh the potential benefits) surgeries. Additionally, Welvie has developed two online programs focused on Advance Care Planning (My Life Letters) and improving members' immunity (My Immunity Score).Welvie won a CMS Innovation Award (2012) with a randomized control trial (RCT) which focused on Medicare members and resulted in substantial savings in both surgery and total health care costs, including a reduction in the mortality rate against the control group.
