AWS Transcribe• Implemented core aspects for a customer-facing feature to detect aggressive, derogatory, and harassment speech, such as the main Lambda function, Sagemaker endpoints, console, and integration tests.• Rewrote the team's audio file processing code from vanilla Java to leverage AWS StepFunctions, S3, and Lambda for a more highly available, resilient architecture.• Team’s UI/front end expert - fixed multiple prominent bugs, addressed high severity security tickets, and conducted the migration to the new generation of Amazon's internal React-based framework.• Achieved CI/CD pipelines for several core services to reduce deployment effort from 1 week to 1 day through modular CloudFormation templates and reliable integration testing.• Established standard procedures for GovCloud operations for org leadership as engineering POC. Initiative resulted in more consistent SLAs, maintainable operations load, and well-tested deployments.

AWS Site-to-Site VPN• Led and launched advanced algorithms and encryption options for our IKE/IPsec daemon to meet the need for quantum-safe protocols and provide higher performance for faster transfer rates. The full stack work included console support, Linux kernel changes, and new API parameters.• Developed software that managed upgrades for our fleet of 100,000+ VPN instances in our largest regions.• Maintained Ruby on Rails site that support engineers used to debug customer cases (50-100 a week).• Automated deployments to cleared government regions for 80% of CI/CD pipelines to meet org-wide goal.• Independently managed IKEv1 to IKEv2 migration for the team’s 3rd largest customer as engineering POC. Conducted numerous technical investigations to VPN connection problems.• Ran knowledge sharing sessions for junior engineers for training in our service stack architecture, multi-threaded networking, and articulate communication with customers or clients.

AWS Site-to-Site VPN• Mocked out critical EC2 and NM dependencies for the provisioning agent to enable large scale testing. This dramatically reduced the cost of loading testing• Created infrastructure to enable loading testing (RDS database, driver scripts, AWS accounts, etc.)

• Developed a tool to generate coverage tests for a bare bones functional language• Published in August 2020
