Information System Security Officer (Isso—Job Series 343 – Gs 15/7)Housing And Urban Developement (Hud) Oct 2022 - PresentResponsible for all PD&R Systems (11 in total) which includes the maintaining the Authority to Operate (ATOs) for new systems, decommissioning of all systems, and annual review (ISCM) activities for better management of Federal investments in accordance to NIST Security Guidelines while meeting the agency mission needs. This includes leading all internal Inspector General (IG), Chief Information Officer (CIO) Security Office, and HUD Privacy Office audits or engagements ensuring compliance with the1974 Privacy Act and within NIST SP 800-53 Revision 5 standards. With the HUD Security Office moving to Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM), a dedicated resource was needed for PD&R so I was moved into this position to better meet the requirements of the Information Technology Management (ITM) Framework which integrates Federal mandates, directives, and best practices for managing the risks that may affect IT investments. ISSO responsibilities also include reviewing Security Plans for Data Use Agreements DUA’s), Data License Agreements (DLA’s), and all research contracts involving HUD data.
