More About the William Center for Undergraduate Achievement: The Williams Center for Undergraduate Achievement is an initiative of Southern University at Shreveport to increase the enrollment, retention and graduation rates of MINORITY MALES who are first generation college students and/or come from low income households. The William Center will offer support to students majoring in the STEM, Education, and Allied Health Programs.Director of the Williams Center for Undergraduate Achievement is responsible for providing leadership and implementation of SUSLA’s Minority Male and Community Foundation Career Compass initiatives focused on student success strategies for targeted at-risk populations.

 Responsible for the development, implementation, and management of college awareness, career exploration, trade union/apprenticeship requirements and military careers as implemented through the YBS program. Conducts outreach to business and industry partners for potential post training placement of YBS participants to connect trainees with viable job opportunities.  Help participants/alumni navigate through the process of applying to post-secondary education institutions, military or employment.  Conduct job readiness, resume, interviewing, job search, soft skills workshops Oversee and coordinate YBS AmeriCorps program activities
